X-Plus 1:8 Vampirella

Although not all that familiar to scale modelers, X-Plus - a Japanese maker of collectable figures and statues from franchises such as Godzilla , Dragon Ball , Ultraman , and more - will be dipping their toes in the styrene model kit market soon.  Their first offering will be comic fan favorite Vampirella! 1:8 scale - about 23 cm (9.06 inches) tall All new tooled kit, but sculpted in a pose that purposely honors the artwork found on the box of the 1971 Aurora Vampirella model kit 38 parts Includes graveyard display base 3999 yen (currently about $37.00 U.S.D.) Polar Lights / Round 2 1:12 Escape from the Dungeon

Hi, Everyone! After Round 2 successfully re-released the old early-1970s MPC Walt Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean line of 1:12 figures under the Lindberg Jolly Roger series of model kits, they are ready to do it again!  This time, however, Round 2 will be re-releasing the MPC 1:12 Walt Disney's Haunted Mansion series but under their Polar Lights brand and with a "Haunted Manor" name change. First up in this Haunted Manor model kit series will be Escape from the Dungeon (kit number POL972).  This model was originally released in 1974 as Walt Disney's Haunted Mansion : Escape from the Crypt. 1:12 scale Rubber band, "double ZAP" action where the figure's shovel hits the chain which causes the skeleton in the casket to leap up Features glow-in-the-dark parts $24.99 U.S.D. Polar Lights / Round 2 1:48 Plan 9 From Outer Space Flying Saucer

Hi, Everyone! On April Fools' Day 2019, Round 2 posted an article on their blog site regarding the eminent re-release of the classic Lindberg 1:48 Flying Saucer model kit.  This time around, however, it will be released under the Polar Lights label (kit number POL970)! Originally released in 1954, the Flying Saucer holds a unique place in scale modeling history as being the world's first injection-molded science-fiction kit. The model was also featured in the 1959 sci-fi / horror film  Plan 9 From Outer Space  where producer, writer, director Ed Wood used a few of the Lindberg Flying Saucer kits - suspended on wires - for several effects scenes.  Bonus trivia: for the movie, he had the models' jet engines removed and clear domes painted over to match the color of the hulls. 1:48 scale - although it can be considered "studio scale"  ;) 10 parts Newly expanded decal sheet features the movie poster artwork and 1:25 scale bumper stickers About 6.25 inches (15.8...
