Polar Lights / Round 2 1:1000 U.S.S. Enterprise Refit

Image
Hi, Everyone! After being continuously available since it's original release in 2009, the Polar Lights / Round 2 1:1000 U.S.S. Enterprise refit kit (kit number POL820) will finally undergo a bit of a refresh (kit number POL974)! New box art in order to conform to CBS' Star Trek merchandising guidelines Updated decal set with battle damage images to reflect its new Wrath of Khan tie in $31.95 U.S.D. MSRP Scheduled to ship during early-2020 No other details have been announced, although there is the possibility (probability?) that the extensive set of aztec decals that were generously included with the original 2009 release may now be broken out of the kit and sold separately.  Evidence pointing to this is the announcement of an upcoming Round 2 1:1000 U.S.S. Enterprise and U.S.S. Reliant aztec decals combo set (product number MKA040) that will have an MSRP of $24.99 U.S.D.. Check out the new box top artwork! Stay tuned... :)

Donald "Don" Lee Matthys Passes Away At 64

Image
Hi, Everyone! It is with sadness to announce that Donald "Don" Lee Matthys passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2019, in Sanford Health Hospital, Fargo, ND.  He was 64. To many of us for decades, he was Don of Don's Light and Magic (DLM) who offered detail upgrade and accurization parts and kits for our favorite genre model kits, many of which were quite unique and impossible to get from anywhere or anyone else.  His love of fantasy and science fiction - especially for the Star Trek franchise - combined with his passion for graphic design and scale modeling saw him frequently sharing his knowledge across various platforms including hobby forums and web sites.  Many of the articles that he took the time to write up in great detail continue to be referenced even today and have proven to be invaluable aids to everyone who comes across them. More information on Don's passing can be found here: https://www.inforum.com/obituaries/obits/4774867-Donald-%E2%80%9CDon%E2...
