Bandai The Mandalorian and Razor Crest

Hi, Everyone!

Bandai has been laying a bit low with their Star Wars model kits after Rise of Skywalker, but they are coming back with four new releases in 2021!

Mandalorian (Beskar armor) and Mandalorian (Beskar armor - silver coated version):

  • 1:12 scale
  • Lower-priced 3300 yen (currently about $31.00 U.S.D.) version has no special coating on armor parts so builder can custom paint
  • Higher-priced 5280 yen (currently about $49.00 U.S.D.) version has silver coating on armor parts
  • Removable jet pack
  • Two types of blasters - blaster and Amban sniper rifle
  • Beskar spear
  • Darksaber
  • Cloak
  • Various interchangeable hand parts - gun hand, rifle hand, weapon hand, facial expression hand
  • Display base included


Razor Crest and Razor Crest (silver coated version):

  • Part of Bandai's Star Wars "Vehicle Model" lineup so it is small
  • Lower-priced 1298 yen (currently about $13.00 U.S.D.) version has no special coating on plastic parts so builder can custom paint
  • Higher-priced 2420 yen (currently about $23.00 U.S.D.) version has silver coating on plastic parts
  • Kinus seal "sticker" sheet included to reproduce ship markings
  • Display base included


All four kits will be released in July 2021.

    Way cool.

    I guess with the pandemic, it's taken them a bit longer to come out with products for shows that have come out over the last year.

Hi, Everyone! I started a project to make a more accurate deflector dish assembly for the AMT / ERTL / Round 2 1:650 TOS U.S.S. Enterprise model kit. Back in the early 1970s, AMT changed the tooling of their 1:650 U.S.S. Enterprise model.  Although the kit itself from its original 1966 tooling had its accuracy problems, the changes made in the early 1970s created even more issues.  One of the issues was the deflector dish assembly: The housing was changed / simplified where the outside wall was raised higher, the inner three stepped rings were all made the same height as the outside wall, and the three "extrusions" from the secondary hull were added. Information Preservation - The New Enterprise Photo Survey - By Phil Broad

Hi, Everyone! Here is another blog article that I put together in order to preserve modeling information originally posted on other sources. Back in the 2000s, Star Trek fan and archivist Phil Broad posted various black and white photos of the Enterprise refit filming miniature.  Since detailed photographs of the Enterprise refit filming miniature during the time of Star Trek: The Motion Picture 's production are generally scarce, Phil's pictures are unique in that they were taken by him after the completion of TMP but before the production of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan .  This makes the photos quite valuable as reference images to anyone who is researching the miniature as it appeared in TMP . Information Preservation - Painting the Refit (ST:TMP) - By Andy "Gunstar1" Grams on Hobby Talk

Hi, Everyone! Here is another blog article that I put together in order to preserve modeling information originally posted on other sources. While doing some casual Enterprise refit painting research, I came across a very insightful forum thread on Hobby Talk that was started on June 22, 2007 by forum member Andy "Gunstar1" Grams.  It was entitled "Painting the Refit ( ST:TMP )."  Here is the link: https://www.hobbytalk.com/threads/painting-the-refit-st-tmp.188494/ .
